Arteta calls on Arsenal to show better form in their home game against Hull City.

The 10th round of the 2026/27 Premier League season will feature another key match, with defending champions Arsenal hosting Hull City. Mikel Arteta stated that the newly promoted team's overall strength is impressive, and therefore urged his team to demonstrate superior ability to their opponents in order to have a chance of securing three points.

With a goal from Havertz assisted by Rice, Arsenal defeated Liverpool 1-0 away in the last round of the league. After securing their fourth consecutive victory, Arsenal currently sits atop the league table with 24 points, three points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, and is clearly determined to gain more points.

Hull City, the newly promoted team, made a strong impression in their opening Premier League match this season by defeating Manchester United 2-0 at home. Currently, Hull City sits in 11th place in the standings and continues to strive to avoid relegation.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said, "What this team achieved last season, and the journey they've come through, is truly impressive. They've played very tough games and shown enough competitiveness in those games. They earned their promotion to the Premier League through their own hard work, and their overall performance has been outstanding."

“We have discussed the potential scenarios with the players, making it clear what challenges Hull City will present and what we need to do to beat them. All our focus is on this game; we must be prepared, perform better than Hull City on the pitch, and ultimately defeat them.”

In the earlier Champions League match, Arsenal defeated Slavia Prague 2-1 after goals from Maduk and Dzekereš, continuing their progress towards the next round.

Arteta pointed out, "We must learn to cope with this kind of schedule, and so far we have done very well. We have faced many strong opponents and experienced a lot of away games. We hope to take the initiative from the start of the game and show our attacking aggression again."

“We are well aware of the importance of our competitive momentum, especially before the international break. We know that there is a series of important matches waiting for us in November and December.”

Furthermore, Arteta stated, "Every detail is crucial. The team's victory is inseparable from the dedication, responsibility, and commitment of every player. This is also true in attack; whether it's set pieces, transitions between attack and defense, or anything else in the game, it all depends on everyone."

"The team must maintain a very high level of performance throughout the 10-month season, and to do that, the team must meet the requirements in every aspect. Otherwise, it will be impossible to achieve the goal."
