Despite losing several players in the summer, Moyes believes Everton's performance still has a positive side.

The 10th round of the 2026/27 Premier League season will kick off tomorrow, with Everton hosting Coventry City at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Moyes stated that despite losing several players this summer, the Toffees believe the team's overall performance remains positive.

Everton secured a 1-0 away win against Newcastle United in their last league match, thanks to a goal from Thieno Barry. After a run of two wins, one draw, and two losses in their last five games, Everton currently sit 7th in the table with 13 points.

It's worth noting that Everton lost players such as Ndiaye, Beto, Irogobnan, and Nathan Paterson during this summer's transfer window, which affected the depth of their squad.

Everton manager David Moyes said, "I think there are still many positive aspects to be had considering the team's overall performance. If we hadn't lost some players in the summer, I think we would be in a better position and would remain in the competition. It's too early to judge the league standings, so I think all we can do is win as many games as possible and continue our current form."

"Overall, even in the games we lost, the players had many excellent performances; it's just that we were unlucky at times. Perhaps we are not yet at the level of some teams, but hopefully we can play a great game against them."

In addition, after this round of Premier League matches concludes, another international break will begin, and Moyes hopes that Diussbury Hall will be called up to the England national team.

Moyes said, "I've said it many times, thankfully I don't have to pick the England squad because there are so many excellent players to choose from. Dusbury Hall is gradually regaining his form from last season. He's been outstanding in the last two games."

“I hope he can be selected; he’s really close to that goal. But the competition for his place is fierce, with many excellent players. We’ll be happy as long as he continues to perform well for Everton. But of course, it would be even better if his performances also earn recognition from the England national team.”
